Television in the 70s

What an amazing piece of kit our telly was. Can you imagine having to change channel by turning a knob to tune in BB2 and forever getting up to realign the aerial and contrast, and the only way to stop the picture from rolling was to give the set a good thump? Do you remember that we only have three channels to watch? Thinking about it, the conversation was better at school next day as everyone seemed to be watching the same thing unlike nowadays where we have too much choice. Aye, the quality of programmes seem to have dwindled when you think back to what we had in our days.

Who remembers The Persuaders? Not too difficult that one eh? How about Rich Man Poor Man with Nick Nolte and Richard Strauss… getting harder? Ok how about Catweazle…? The 11th century wizard transported to the 20th century and befriended by a little boy. Okay, this is the clincher… can you remember the name of his toad? Answers on a postcard please……..

I will be delving into the bowels of 70’s tv and bringing forth loads of information on these forgotten programmes and also bios of those stars that entertained us so well.

I know I know you want it now but it’s a huge job and I only have one pair of hands so any volunteers take a step forward. Hmm all gone quiet.

Anyway I really hope you enjoy the fruits of my labour and if so please let me know.

If you have any suggestions or anything to offer just email me at the above address.

Also make sure you sign up to the newsletter so I can keep you informed of the additions to the site.
