Films of the Seventies
A tour through the great and not so great films of the seventies

The seventies saw a huge change in styles and genres from the advent of the slasher horror movies like Halloween and the blockbuster summers films started by Jaws. Another major significant step forward in movie making was with the utilisation of computer technology and the new rules of certification pushing the boundaries even further.. It was technology that allowed the Directors and Producers to realise their ideas bringing to the silver screen such benchmark films like Alien and Star Wars to so many amazed audiences. Here we have hundreds of the seventies films that made that era so great from Rollerball to Flesh Gordon, to banned films like Pink Flamingos to Salo. They're all here for you to see so check out your favourite now.

Reviews
I know you can all remember Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind but can you recall the delights of Yul Brynner in Westworld, the forerunner of Michael Crichton’s Juarassic Park? Can you tell me what Star Trek actor starred in the Night of the Lepus? Ahh have I got you there? No matter, the answers are all here with some reviews very kindly written by Noel Bailey, a film critic for many years and ex pat now residing in Australia. Originally from Kent he has now written a superb book about his younger years growing up in the U.K, which you are now able to have a sneak preview of on the stories page. It is a superb read and will take you back to those fun filled days but don’t take my word for it, go check it out. Also we have had a contributions from a very mysterious fellow named The_Void who as you will see is a very fine writer and knows his onions regarding the films and also five other very generous people Bill Slocum, Gary F Taylor and Theo Robertson, Jack Gatanella and Sven Soetemans without who's help this section would of taken me years to do.

So thank you all so very much not just for your help but for opening my eyes to the wealth of quality films made in the seventies..

So what are you waiting for, go take a look and see if you're favourite seventies flick is in there and if it isn't please drop me a line.

If you're particularly interested in horror films there's a superb site totally dedicated to seventies horror here

Stay cool guys and keep it groovy
